Frustrating Mysteries There are just so many frustrating things which happen during one’s life. Some of them are not personally happening to us, but they are annoying never the less. Take government secrets for example. Some people could care less about them while others want to know the truth about things. Currently, while I write this article, Epstein is the hot topic. Many of us want to know who went to the Epstein Island. We also want to know for sure that there really was no list. I can tell you what I do know. I have seen many prostitution cases in court and the houses of prostitution all kept records and those records disappeared in every case I saw. Think about this, I am sure some of these records would have named some very powerful people who had the means of making the records disappear. Multiply the importance of the people by 1,000 times in the Epstein case and that is why there is said to be no list in my estimation. Also think about this, Epstein may have been making video records of the goings on and or compiling a list to keep has a hedge against prosecution or for future blackmail purposes. It has been said however there is no evidence he blackmailed people. This doesn’t mean he might not have done it in the future. If he ever did, it probably would not have been for money, since he was worth at least 500 million dollars according to CNBC. It is hard to expect an answer to the Epstein case when we still are wondering about the Kennedy case from November 22, 1963. There is a theory that Epstein was a confidential informant much as Whitey Bulger was, the famed gangster who the government handled for years to build cases against others and those cases may come out in the future and the government doesn’t want to alert those people before they are ready to prosecute. Even when records are released on the Kennedy case, we are still no closer to learning who was behind the assassination. Yes, we know Oswald may have fired the kill shot, but many believe there was at least one other shooter and some powerful people were behind the assassination. After Kennedy was killed and Oswald was in custody, he in turn was killed by Jack Ruby, thus eliminating any info he could give on anyone he was working for. Sometimes, a coincidence is not a coincidence, but a purposeful act. History is full of unanswered questions. We are still trying to solve the mystery of the lost colony of Roanoke. The colony was established in 1587. The governor of the colony, John White went to England, but returned three years later only to find the colony had disappeared. Historians have been trying to figure out where the people went since then. The only clue was a word carved into a tree which read Croatoan, but the meaning was never figured out. One of my favorite mysteries, I really should not use the word favorite for such a tragic event, took place in Russia. It happened in 1959 and is known as the Dyatlov Pass Incident. The Dyatlov Pass is in the Ural Mountains. A group of hikers decided to hike there and set up tents. There were 9 people in the group. They had come from the Polytechnical Institute. During the night some unknown event happened causing them to run for their lives. They were so scared, they didn’t bother to get dressed even though it was bitter cold. People were sent out to search for them when they didn’t return. All nine were found dead. It is said six died from the cold, but three seemed to have been attacked. Two had their chests crushed and one had a cracked skull. There have been plenty of theories over what caused their deaths, but until 2020 there were no answers. In 2019 the Russians opened an investigation and concluded they had been killed by an avalanche. This explanation was not accepted by everyone. Why would anyone write a book in a non-existent language? I am talking about the world’s most mysterious book known as the Voynich Manuscript from the fifteenth century. The book is named after an early 20th century book dealer named Wilfrid Voynich. The author of the book is unknown but some history of the book is known, while at other times it seems to disappear from history. The book is full of plant illustrations and others, such as astronomical and astrological charts, tiny female nudes, medallions, pages of text, and pharmaceutical drawings. People have been trying to translate this book for centuries. Could it be it is some kind of joke which is knowingly filled with gibberish? It might be code written for members of a medieval secret society. There are just some mysteries which in my estimation may never be solved, others which may be but need better technology to complete the job. One of the tombs of a famous person which has never been found was the tomb of Cleopatra. Cleopatra was not Egyptian but Greek. One has to wonder if this could have anything to do with the location of her tomb. She lived 3 centuries later than Alexander who conquered Egypt. There is a story of which persists to this day of a discovery made in Death Valley, California by a prospector named White. It was said he stumbled upon Egyptian mummies, gold and Egyptian artifacts. Among these was said to be the mummy of Cleopatra. An article was published in 1909 in the Arizona Gazette claiming the discovery had been made. Another tomb which has been searched for relentlessly is the tomb of Genghis Khan. It is believed to be somewhere in Mongolia and might be near the Burkhan Khaldun mountain. It is thought some of his supporters hid the grave to protect it from being robbed or desecrated. The story goes they may have diverted a river over the grave. If they did, they certainly put a lot of attention into hiding it. It is said the Mongolian people respect the fact that the grave should stay hidden as a show of respect for him. A famous fossil was known as Peking Man. The bones of Peking Man were in China and had been found in a cave in 1923 near the village of Zhoukoudian. Peking Man was a famous hominin. He was part of the species Homo erectus. In 1937 the Japanese invaded China and confiscated the bones with the intent of sending them to the United States for some reason. The bones never arrived and what happened to them has become a mystery. Some believe they were put aboard a ship which sunk but others have different ideas, but it seems most have accepted the fact the bones may never be found.
