Unexplained Wonders In Space When I talk about things in space we can’t explain, I am talking about objects and events which according to science probably shouldn’t exist. We know space is huge and we think we can almost see to the edge of the universe, which is estimated to be about 13+ billion light years. We can’t really be sure about this, because there could be other objects past this point and they very well could be objects we do not understand. We have been told space is dangerous and indeed it is. We know about radiation and deadly X-Rays, but not many know about the powerful lightning bolts which are thought to be emitting from black holes. They are said to be about a trillion times more powerful than the lightning bolts we see on earth and they travel at least 150,000 light years. The Milky Way is about 100,000 light years in diameter which means these bolts can reach every place in our galaxy. When we talk about extinction events such as those that might have destroyed the dinosaurs, no one ever mentions the fact one of these bolts could have struck the earth. Maybe this is never considered because there might be enough power there to destroy our planet, I just don’t know for sure. There may not be a way to protect a spacecraft from one of these bolts due to the sheer amount of energy in them. We have found something in space which at this point in time cannot be explained. It just goes to show how little we know about what is out there and how it is created. The object is known as ASAS-SN-15LH. There has never been anything found as bright as this object, but saying it is bright does not do it justice. The object is more than 50 times brighter than our entire galaxy. The energy it is putting out is more than a hundred billion suns. The object is a ball of gas, but this is not the entire story. There is something in the middle of the gas ball which scientists believe is creating this gas and putting out this energy. Get ready for this, the object is only 10 miles in diameter. It was discovered in June, 2015 and is 3.8 billion light years away. The laws of physics state this is impossible, because nothing known which is so small could put out so much energy. One has to wonder what effect this has on nearer systems. Could this object be killing life if it existed? Due to its distance we are observing its light 3.8 billion light years after it left the object, so the object may not even be there anymore. We can’t help but worry about the water shortage on some parts of the earth. We even have a problem where water exists, because of the rate of contamination of our water supplies. It seems it is more important for companies to make money than to preserve our precious water supplies. In the future water may not be a problem, because it seems there is water is some areas of space. Scientists have found an area which is about 12 billion light years away and this area contains 140 trillion times the amount of water found on earth. It is orbiting a black hole. So far this is the most water we have found anywhere, but it is thought there could be water on some of the moons in our solar system and this would be a lot closer. If there is water in space, could there be life in it? We are finding out life is very hardy and can live in the worst of conditions, so it might not be a big surprise to find life living in a space ocean. These oceans could even contain intelligent live. I am talking about possibilities only. All this does make me wonder if there could be land without a planet. A place where large flat pieces of land have coalesced to form terra firma I know scientists believe planets have to be approximately round or a little more oval, but I have never heard any of them suggest there might be places where a planet was flat. I am calling this a planet, but others might call it something else. Maybe when our ancestors said the earth was flat they weren’t that far wrong concerning some other objects in space. We just keep find out about things we never suspected and one thing it proves is our science is woefully deficient. I say this because physics can’t explain some of the things we are finding. In other words they shouldn’t exist according to our scientific theories. Maybe it is time science looked more closely at some of the fringe theories regarding space and time. There might be an answer in some of these theories. A structure has been found in space. This is a structure which is so big, physics states it is impossible to exist. Remember when I told you our Milky Way was about 100,000 light years across? This structure is the impossible size of 4 billion light years across or about 40,000 times the size of the Milky Way. It is known as the LQG or Large Quasar Group. Science is at a loss to explain the formation of this structure. Now that we know such a large structure exists in the universe how do we know we have found the biggest structure? Let me state this the simplest way, we don’t know for a fact this is the biggest structure, we only know it is the biggest one we have found so far. For all we know there could be others out of telescope range or undiscovered. Astrophysics says the maximum size of any cosmic structure should be 1.2 billion light years. I have to wonder what else is waiting out there to surprise us. It seems we don’t really know as much about space as we think and most of our knowledge of space has to do with our solar system and telescopic observations. Telescopes are great, but we need something better. We don’t know anything about the current universe, nothing at all since even the closest solar system to us emits light which takes a couple of years to reach us. The entire universe could be destroyed and we wouldn’t know it yet. Even the sun could explode and it would take us 8 minutes and 20 seconds before we knew about it, because that is how long it would take for its light to reach us. I guess you could say we are living in the past. Perhaps someone will invent a way to eliminate this lag, but right now optical and radio telescopes are all we have for looking at planets outside the solar system and they are basically historical instruments, instruments looking at history. |
