The Energy World And Multiverses
We go along in our world observing all different things. If we look at the woods we see trees, grass and even animals. Looking at our cities we see tremendous buildings, automobiles and people running around in the streets and yet our perception of everything we are seeing is wrong. We tend to think of things as being solid and even living things like you and me as being a solid mass and yet scientists who study quantum physics are telling us there is no such thing as a solid and that everything is made of energy. Quantum physicists are dealing with the subatomic world and when you deal with this world you realize even atoms are composed mostly of space and are more like little solar systems. I’ve heard it said that if one was to take all the empty space out of every individual on this planet we would all fit inside of a sugar cube. I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the statement, but I do know we are mostly space. In the space is energy from the atomic world, things are whirling around each other so I guess if one says we are mostly all energy, maybe that should be modified a little to say we are mostly space and energy, a lot of space and a good amount of energy for our size.
One of the reasons we think many things are solid is, because of our size we are so much bigger than an atom that we cannot even see one without the aid of advanced technology. This would not be true if we ourselves were microscopic. We would have the reverse problem, we would look at things like buildings and not be able to see them for what they really are. What we would see is stacks of atoms which compose the molecules of the building. Years ago there was a science fiction story about a new, very powerful, microscope which had been invented. It was so powerful it could see beyond atoms and when it was used on a drop of water it found a tiny universe with stars and planets. Scientists were able to zoom in on one of the planets and it turned out the planet had life on it and the scientist in the laboratory was able to observe individual beings going about their business unsuspecting that they were being watched. Unfortunately the story did not have a happy ending for the drop of water evaporated destroying the universe inside of it.
You may wonder why I am bringing this up. I’m bringing it up, because there has been a lot of talk about multi-universes lately. A lot of scientists think there are multi-universes out there somewhere and have even pointed to certain spots in space which they think are at least one of these universes leaking into ours. I’m not sure how I feel about the theory of multi-universes, but I have to wonder if maybe the scientists are going about things the wrong way. Perhaps they are right about multi-universes, but maybe they are inside of each other and as one universe is internally in the other it is microscopic and this microcosm has its own microscopic universe and so forth. How would we ever know? Remember what I said about looking at a building if we were microscopic, we could never tell what it was. Now take it to the level of the universe, how could we ever see a universal so large if our universe was only equivalent to a grain of sand inside of it and perhaps there were several universes bigger?
Just because our universe is composed of atoms and particles with a lot of space in them, doesn’t mean we will not find some type of other building blocks if we find other universes. The construction of these other universes could be so alien to us we would not even know they were there if we could see them. Perhaps we might think we are looking at something entirely different. Let me give you an example of what I am talking about. Someday astronauts could be out in space in some distant area and detect what they think might be a cloud of gas. The cloud might be a miniature universe, but they don’t recognize the fact because they don’t see any heavenly bodies contained in it. It might just be that our instruments and our eyes are not capable detecting the makeup of another universe. This doesn’t only go for universes either, there could be all sorts of things in space which we are yet to be capable of detecting. There could be a couple of different reasons for this. One reason might be some super advanced alien race has figured out how to hide their universe from prying eyes. Another reason might be it is so alien to us that we just can’t detect it. Whatever the reason, it could be a lot closer to us than we suspect. Just the other day I read where one scientist thinks another dimension is touching ours. It doesn’t mean he’s right of course, but it shows the problem is being thought about.
We can even take this a step further, creatures from another universe may be undetectable to us and they may or may not be able to see us in turn. If they can see us and we can’t detect them than that certainly leaves us at a tremendous disadvantage, especially if they have ill intent. If this is true and it has happened, meaning there are aliens watching us, if they did have an intention of doing some harm to us they would’ve done it already. One day during a conversation one person was saying it might even be possible if a situation like this existed, not only could we not see these aliens, but we couldn’t touch them because we would think there was nothing there. Throwing things out like this is interesting, but it really doesn’t prove much and it certainly doesn’t prove if the entire concept is true or not.
There was some quantum physicists who claim consciousness is in part of our material reality and when we die our consciousness does not die and continues and we are still aware in whatever form we are in. Some believe we will be whisked off to some other multi-verse while others believe we will become non-corporeal beings. Most religions teach we will become spirits and if we been good we will go to heaven and someday we’ll get our bodies back. There is just so much we don’t understand right now and if the human race continues to flourish and looks back at this time they will feel the same way about us as we feel about looking back to the Renaissance.
