Strange Black Hole Information We seem to be learning a little more about black holes. Sometimes what we learn we don’t understand. This is precisely what happened when astronomers were observing the black hole which is at the center of our galaxy. They noticed a gigantic cloud of material heading towards the black hole. The diameter of this cloud was about the same as the distance from the sun to Pluto. As the cloud got closer to the black hole astronomers were waiting for it to be pulled apart and sucked in. The material cloud began to stretch, and the stretching continued until miraculously the cloud passed the black hole. The cloud was never pulled into the black hole and astronomers are wrestling with the reason why not. Black holes are said to have the most powerful gravity of anything in the universe and it was previously thought nothing could escape its gravity. As the cloud got further away from the black hole it began to pull itself back into the shape it was at before it reached the black hole and eventually went back to its original shape. The only thing left after this experience is a group of scientists all scratching their heads. Is it possible the type of matter in the cloud was able to produce antigravity in a high enough concentration that it allowed the cloud to get past the black hole? I don’t know if the next thing I am going to talk about has any relation to the cloud I just spoke about. It has to do with that same black hole at the center of the galaxy. First let me say how powerful this black hole is. It is the equivalent of 4,000,000 suns. One cannot even imagine the amount of gravity this object must put out. Scientists are reporting they have discovered strange space phenomena near the black hole. They claim they have seen objects near the black hole which look like they are composed of gas but act like stars. They believe at least one of the objects was a gas cloud, but as it orbited the black hole it was never pulled in. This made the astronomers say it could not have been a gas cloud. One scientist stated the idea it was a gas cloud worked well until they found six other objects which look the same at different areas of orbit. This meant they couldn’t have acquired their gas from the same source. We are left again with another head scratcher. Apparently, the scientists were originally referring to something called G2 which was the name for the original gas cloud I spoke about above. They believed this was the source of the gas for two objects but it couldn’t have been for the six others. Apparently, something else has been spewing out these types of clouds and perhaps the original G2 cloud got its mass from that object. Getting back to the black hole at the center of our galaxy, scientists claim there is something strange going on with it. They say it is warping and combining stars into some new kind of object. It is amazing to me the astronomers don’t know what this object is. Could there actually be something which is forming in our galaxy which we have never seen before? If that is true one has to wonder what properties it might have and how it would fit in with the rest of the objects in the galaxy? Currently it is only a guess by scientists what these objects could be. It turns out they are referring to the objects I talked about above and claim they could be hybrids. One has to wonder what a hybrid of a star and a cloud of some strange material which could be gas, might be like? I think we have to hope that whatever is finally created is simpatico with everything else and will not eventually destroy the galaxy. At this point, I believe we are finding out we may not know as much about black holes as we first thought. We do believe black holes come in three types, stellar black holes, supermassive black holes and intermediate black holes. A stellar black hole is the type that is created when a star collapses in on itself. A supermassive black hole is a gigantic black hole and an intermediate black hole can be somewhere in between. It is my belief, there is a very good chance we will find the supermassive black hole is not the biggest black hole. I say this because we know there is a good chance something is pulling the universe towards it and that may turn out to be a black hole so large it is almost the size of the universe itself. We have also come to the conclusion our large collider’s, which smash particles together could create a micro black hole. This could mean space might have micro black holes and it. Perhaps this is how some bigger black holes start. They float around gobbling up material which makes them grow, while others after being created fail because there is no material around them to feed them. We have said a lot of things about the composition of black holes without really knowing for sure what we were talking about. An example of this is a theory that says if you fell into a black hole you would be stretched out like a piece of spaghetti. We really don’t know what is inside of a black hole and for all we know the intensive gravity might be created near the event horizon at the top and gravity inside of the black hole might not be what we expect. There have been theories put forth by some scientists who think the inside of a black hole may act as a time travel device, of course there is no proof of this either. There was an estimate made by scientists about how many black holes might exist just in the Milky Way galaxy and these scientists came to the conclusion there would be anywhere from 10,000,000 to a billion stellar black holes which they felt would be about three times the size of our sun on average. Again, we are seeing guesses. This sort of reminds me about statements which have been made lately by scientists where some of them claim within ten years we will meet with aliens. How could anyone possibly know this? Will we ever find a use for black holes in the future? There are those who think they are like tunnels and they come out in a white hole which could possibly be a shortcut in our universe or a pathway to another one.
