Life, Death and In-between
When people die we loved, most of us wonder where they go. It is perfectly normal to feel that way. The question is do any of us get contacted by them after they are gone? Psychiatrists will say those of us who say yes have experienced a hallucination. This is to be the expected excuse, but it doesn’t explain so many people who never had one, having heard a voice or seen an apparition of their dear loved ones. A study was taken in Wales of elderly people who had lost loved ones. The results were rather startling. Thirteen percent had heard their voice after they died. Fourteen percent had seen them and three percent claimed they were touched by them. One might say well these were old people and probably half senile, but that wasn’t the case. Sure, they were elderly but there is proof to back up what they said. I bet saying there is proof has piqued your interest, or maybe not and you have decided you have read enough. If you feel that way give me a chance and just look at the next paragraph and if you still think this is crazy and leave, it’s okay with me.
It turns out being a hospice nurse has given them an insight to what happens to us after we die. Many of them have received communications from the dead and they will readily tell you this. One had said her life was completely changed after the first time this happened to her. She had treated a patient who was almost gone and held her in her arms as she died. She released the patient and carefully checked and she was gone. A couple of minutes later she heard the patients voice, it was unmistakable to her since she had heard it many times before. The deceased patient thanked her for being so kind. The nurse didn’t get scared, but she certainly was startled.
Another nurse who dealt with dying people in a hospital over the years told a worker she had seen many apparitions. Several times she had seen what at first, she thought were very sick patients walking down the hall and then disappearing. She found out later the patients had already died before she had seen them. As remarkable as this experience was, she said she was almost used to it and now had a firm belief in life after death.
There are thousands of stories, maybe even millions where dying people have seen their deceased family and friends come to their room just before they died. Workers report this all the time. Most just write it off to drugs or whatever, but it seems to happen far too much for that to be the case. It seems when we die, we have dear ones waiting for us perhaps to guide us to where we have to go. I never used to believe in these things, but my opinion has changed over the years due to a couple of experiences I personally had. I know some will laugh at what I am writing about, but others may have had experiences of their own and understand. This is not to say I believe all that stuff on those ghost reality shows on television. As a matter of fact, I debunked one once. I won’t name the show, but the episode took place in an armory at night. Two ghost hunters were up on a catwalk when a black mass came rushing toward them. I recorded the video and took stills from various scenes with the mass in it and in one you could clearly see a hand sticking out from under a black covering. You could even see the watch on the person’s wrist.
Some people think we are visited from time to time by those who have passed but we just can’t see them, however small children can from time to time. I know of one instance where a child about 3 years old was staring at the roof in a room without budging. We he was asked what he was looking at he replied grandpa. Grandpa had died before he was born.
It seems places like hospitals and hospices seem to have the most instances of people seeing the dead although many people report this at home. If we eliminate mental illness and drug use, we still have far too many witnesses to these events. I would have thought we would hear a lot about this from funeral directors. It doesn’t seem a lot of them have had paranormal experiences. There are a few however but the point was many believe they would have the most experiences. One undertaker who was interviewed was asked if he believed in ghosts. He had been an undertaker for almost fifty years and he said he never saw one and did not believe in them. If they do exist it seems they have no need to visit their bodies in the undertaker’s work room. I don’t blame them.
Since we now live in a world surrounded by cameras, we have a way of maybe proving an apparition appeared somewhere. The problem is photos and videos can be faked. There is another problem, things which appear on a video and look paranormal can turn out to be everyday objects. I remember a wispy looking “ghost” which appeared in a gas station floating over a car which was filling up. It had a green tint to it and moved like it was alive. It turned out to be as far away from a ghost as anything could be. It was a large, almost clear, green plastic bag which the gentle wind kept aloft about 8 feet off the ground and caused it to move very strangely. As far as photos go so many of them claim to show things which not everybody can even agree with and they are even more easily faked than videos.
It is hard to ignore the fact someone is being contacted when they hear a loud outside voice which sounds just like it is from a deceased love one saying something which contains words which have a special meaning to only the one who hears it. That is one of the strongest types of contact.
Is there life after death and were most of the religions of the world right about that? It certainly seems so. There are enough after death experiences to at least make us suspect that. Those who have come back will swear that to you and tell you how they saw things going on after they had died which can be verified.
