News 11 November 2021 What is the deal with our nuclear sub which was hit by an unidentified object? Could the government be covering something up about the hit because the sub was in waters near China? Is this just another case of blaming aliens for something we don’t understand or something that is being hidden from us? We may never know the answer to this. I for one don’t like to hear that a multibillion dollar submarine equipped with all the latest detection devices couldn’t avoid what ever this was. Could the Chinese had fired a torpedo without a warhead to scare us off and we don’t want to mention it? After all, lately we have caved on many different fronts. The navy claims the sub hit an unchartered underwater mountain. The University of Arizona has announced its engineers created a new type of medical device which is revolutionary. It is a monitoring device which never needs to be recharged. A 3D device is printed based on scans of a person’s body. It offers continuous monitoring something which nothing else on the market can do. A sort of mesh is wrapped around one’s body which part needs the monitoring and the user wears a device which looks like a watch which does the gathering of the data. An example is a person which needs to check body temperature constantly. The mesh would be put near their armpit. If you need a muscle monitored the mesh would be wrapped around that muscle group. As the ice melts in different countries, objects start to appear. I have talked about this before, but something different has been found in Norway. A ski was found with the binding still intact. You might wonder what makes this so special? The reason is simple the ski was 1300 years old. Eight years later the other ski was found not far from the original find. This makes them the oldest set of skis ever found and they even predate the Vikings. When the first ski was found, scientists kept the area under surveillance hoping other objects would appear. I don’t think they ever had any hope of the other ski appearing, it seems like too much to hope for. The NASA administration is planning to shoot a rocket at an asteroid to see if they can move it off course. They say this kind of test is necessary to protect the earth in the future from asteroids heading our way. We know it could be effective, but it will always depend on the size of the object we are trying to move and how early we can get to it. Could the test also have another purpose which is a warning to countries like China which states we can hit anything with our missiles? There has been plenty of talk lately about the search for extraterrestrial life. A new element to the search is being added. NASA is going to allow artificial intelligence, AI to control a telescope looking for alien life. The telescope is the Nancy Grace Roman telescope and will perform a search which would be too tedious for a human. It will scan thousands of objects at the same time every hour. It makes more sense to let an AI do this. An unusual find was made by Archaeologists. It wasn’t one that went back thousands of years, or some lost treasure, but interesting never the less. They were digging near the Moray distillery in Scotland when they discovered something at the old site of the Glenlivet Distillery. They discovered the floor of a far older distillery from 1824 which is believed to be the first distillery of Scottish Whisky. It is said George Smith became the first illicit producer to get a distillery license after the 1823 Excise Act. The most powerful laser we ever created in the United States will start its operations next year in 2022. It is a three petawatt laser. A petawatt is one quadrillion watts. We have never had anything like this power in a laser before. China has built a 5.3 petawatt one and Europe has two 10 petawatt ones. We built our first petawatt laser in 1996 but fell behind after that. It seems the Romans liked religious statues in their home, much as some of us do today. The difference is which gods the statues represented. A small statue has been found in England which is in incredible shape. It was cleaned and looks like it was just made today. It is a statue of Venus and is made from pipe clay. An incredible find was made in Jerusalem. The object was considered a luxury item in its day and you had to be very rich to afford one. I am talking about a toilet. Israeli archaeologists found a toilet that was more than 2,700 years old. It was found in the Old City in a rectangular cabin which was part of a mansion. Under the toilet was a septic tank. This is an extremely rare find. There is a question which pops up every once in a while, and it is the question of whether there is oxygen on Mars and if so, how much? We know there is a crater on Mars which oxygen had been detected over, but the amount varies at times. We also know some scientists have said there is some oxygen but only enough to be about two feet over the ground. Recently a NASA scientist was asked this question and here is what he said. He said there was, but it is nothing like the amount we have on earth. He also said a new technology named MOXIE, proved we can convert Martian Co2 into oxygen. Speaking of NASA, they have decided to ask for help with designing spacesuits. They put out a call to private companies. I think this is long overdue. I remember Elon Musk telling NASA if they had a problem in this area, he would solve it for them. It seems we just keep finding more species of dinosaurs we have never seen before. I can’t help but feel amazed at this by now. I have to wonder if we are mistaking mutated animals for a new species? Anyway, scientists are claiming they found two new species on the Isle of Wight. Scientists are saying they are related to the giant Spinosaurus. Their skulls are said to be crocodile like. Space Force is spending 57.5 million dollars for a system which will connect its war operations to its war fighters. The system is a prototype and if successful, I guess they will have to give out another contract for an advanced system.
