The Connection Between the Paranormal, Religion and Science
One has to wonder if science and the paranormal might have some overlapping areas. I am not saying the paranormal is a genuine field or that even everybody agrees what is paranormal and what is not, but I couldn’t help but notice some areas which could possibly merge. Did you ever notice all the talk about different dimensions? There is a common idea which could even merge the paranormal, science and religion. Yes, I know this sounds incredible, but the idea exists. I am talking about life after death.
Many major religions teach our life on earth is only a precursor to the life we will receive after we die. We are told by the religious authorities if we live a meaningful life which consists of helping others, staying out of sin or if we sin asking God for forgiveness and being as good as we possibly can, we will be rewarded with a passage to heaven where we will live forever. Where is this place located where we are supposed to go, has anyone ever seen it and told anyone else about it? There is plenty of evidence we do move on, just ask any nurse or doctor who has extended service in hospitals with the terminally ill. There are so many reports of not only the dying all seeing their relatives and even the golden towers of heaven and a bright light, they are hard to ignore. There are even reports by medical staff of seeing a person walking down the hospital corridors after they died and then disappearing. These would all be paranormal experiences.
When we talk about the paranormal, we have to consider the fact too many other subjects have been thrown into the topic which I believe do not really belong there. The first one is UFOs. I just don’t see how anyone could lump this topic into the paranormal. Paranormal should be reserved for supernatural phenomena and the fact other beings may exist on some of the trillions of planets out there who are exploring the earth just doesn’t seem to fit the topic. Another problem is the subject of the paranormal is probably the most ridiculed of all the subjects.
Religion really backs up the paranormal event of people who are dying having deceased relatives coming for them to ease their way and take them to heaven where most religions tell us we could go to. But what about science, what could possibly be the connection to all this? It is the theory which states other dimensions exist beyond the ones we can detect. Could one or more account for heaven and others account for hell if it exists? Could it be for the first time science has discovered religion has a basis in fact which can be quantified? Has science been struggling over the centuries to prove religion is correct in its assumption of life after death without realizing it?
Over the years science has tried to dismiss the near death experience saying it is something the brain is responsible for and is a fiction. The problem with this was too many people were having the exact same experiences, which makes no sense if it was just a random event caused by the brain. Another thing which is impossible for science to explain are the myriad of reincarnation cases of young children who when questioned know too many facts about past lives. How does one explain a young boy who was yelling fire from when he began to learn to talk, who before he was five years old was asking to go to a certain home one state over and asked so many times his parents took him? They found there was a house there on the street he said with the right address and got permission from the owners to come in after they told them why they were here. When they got inside and started talking to the occupants, they found out the person the child kept saying he was, turned out to be a relative who was a fighter pilot in World War II and was shot down in a burning plane. Its discoveries like this which are unexplainable except by the facts either reincarnation does exist or memories are passed on somehow. Children gradually lose these memories by an early age and adults almost never have them.
Why is it we can’t imagine what a dimension looks like which would be above the four we are in which is length, width, height and time? Maybe we can’t visualize higher dimensions because we are being prevented from seeing what heaven and hell might look like because as living beings, we don’t have that right.
People who are into paranormal acts such as mediums, have a reputation of being frauds. I can’t cite one case where eventually they didn’t get debunked by investigators. Houdini tried for years to contact his deceased mother. He went to every famous medium of his time and attended seances. Everyone turned out to be a fraud and he exposed the mediums. This didn’t win him any friends in the paranormal community especially when he exposed his friend’s wife. She was the wife of Edgar Rice Burroughs.
Scientists are spending a lot of time trying to get to higher dimensions, but there is a claim it has already been accomplished by the living. This has said to have been accomplished by some very advanced monks in Tibet and now science has found some evidence this might be true. It turns out humans release photons which are tiny particles of light. In certain Tibetan monks they seem to have been able to increase these particles by hundreds of thousands. There is a ceremony which lasts about three days when a monk is said to transport himself to another realm which we would consider another dimension. As he meditates over the three days his body physically shrinks until he gets very tiny and finally dies. How can something like this happen? Some believe extraterrestrials may have given this power to ancient Tibetans and they continued to use it until this day. Only very few of the monks have mastered this technique. It certainly does seem to employ the paranormal, religion and seems to be backed up by science.
There is just so much we cannot explain which people tend to avoid talking about or just don’t know anything about. If we were to conduct a survey which we could be guaranteed honest answers, we might find out people all over the world are having experiences which cannot be explained.
