Are We Losing Free Speech?

There is a new movement afoot and it concerns all of us. The Internet has made it possible for us to see many different theories about what is going on with the different governments of the world. While these may be only theories and are protected in the Western world, these sites have gleamed anger from the politicians and elites who want us to only hear their story about world events. I think all of us can understand why. We have been constantly lied to, led into wars under false pretenses and watched as our government gets deeper and deeper into debt because of bad management, playing favorites, corruption, kickbacks and bail outs. We even give our money away to other countries when we are running a negative budget. I am not only talking about the United States, but many of the European countries where there is supposed to be a free society.

If we look at Britain and listen to what David Cameron has said publicly, it is blood chilling. He seems to want people with so-called conspiracy theories to be classified as terrorists. It was reported that he said they should be purged from society on the grounds of national security. Yipes, there is that all encompassing excuse again, NATIONAL SECURITY. This seems to mean to these people that it should be used to eliminate anything that is in disagreement to the politicians and the elites who really run things. They don’t want the common people to have any public ideas on what might really be going on. Think of things this way, the people with the theories may not all be right, we know that, but they get us thinking on what may really be happening and this is something the politicians and powerful people don’t want. They want us to buy into all their phony excuses, no matter how transparent they are. When Snowden the whistleblower started releasing documents which showed some politicians had bad things to say about leaders of other countries, some called for his execution. This is a bit harsh wouldn’t you say for embarrassing someone? It just goes to show what we are really thought of.

Cameron made a speech before the UN equating people who express theories as extremists who are somehow connected to violence. If he would get his way we would all have to keep our mouths shut for fear of being arrested or worse. In France the leading powers there are moving in the same direction. The French Prime Minster, Francois Hollande wants to change his country’s laws so people with conspiracy theories can be dealt with. They would be treated as terrorists. He has taken a slightly different view of conspiracy theorists and equated them to the Nazis. Can you imagine if you have an opinion which is considered a conspiracy theory you are classified as a Nazi? How terrible is that? The hypocrisy was rampant in Paris in January when many world leaders got together marching for free speech.

One of the problems is the French government would like to classify conspiracy websites as the same as ISIS websites which they want to block. It seems the French government has decided they may be able to use the ISIS excuse as a broad brush to paint all the websites they fear hurts them politically. This is always the problem with these things. Blocking ISIS sites is the government’s right, but then using the excuse of terrorism to block conspiracy sites is wrong. What is next, blocking alternate news sites? A lot of news is coming out of alternate news sites and some of it is very unfavorable to the U.S. and Europeans. I am sure the politicians and elites would love to close them down. One example is the riots going on in Germany over bailing out the German banks. Riots involving tens of thousands of people took place and hundreds were injured, but we didn’t see much coverage in the Western press. Why is that? It is because the people who control the banks also control the press and they are behind the governments.

Much of the bravery of the world leaders in trying to destroy free speech on the Internet has been prompted by what has happened in the United States, where laws have been passed and extended which allow for imprisonment without representation under the Patriot Act. There is no reason on earth why this type of law should have ever been enacted. When President Bush signed these laws and President Obama then became the president it was thought by many the laws would just expire, but then President Obama extended them. He had complained about this type of thing when running for office, but had no problem extending them. I don’t know if this is true, but it was said he did it in a covert manner in the middle of the night. It just goes to show you there has to be others pulling the strings.
The would be conspiracy theories about some of the events which have taken place, if what we were told, didn’t stink so much.Β  If we look at 9/11 and the hundreds of experts in many different fields who testified that things couldn’t have happened the way we were told, is it no wonder we doubt the official story? Then there is the story we were told about Iraq and how they had weapons of mass destruction and how we had to attack them. We were shown empty trucks and told they were traveling labs for these weapons and such. Nothing was ever found. If we go back to the Vietnam War we were told we were attacked at the Gulf of Tonkin and later found out we were lied to. How can we believe anything we are told anymore?

Many governments seem to have agendas which are not the same as what the people want, but it is the people be damned. It seems we are only good for cannon fodder in wars and cheap labor as evidenced by how wages have fallen in many areas. The push to get rid of all union representation has a dark side behind it. It is not to create more jobs it is to create lower wages. The ideal situation for those elites in power is to get a cheap work force.

We were guaranteed free speech under the constitution but we are losing that guarantee.
