Trading Warming For Bucks Some people are still denying global warming doesn’t exist even when the average yearly temperature of the earth keeps rising. I personally don’t understand this. They claim it is just a political ploy by politicians so they can write more regulations further hurting companies. Apparently most people in the world don’t feel the same way. 7,100 cities in 119 countries disagree and have formed an alliance to curb climate change. One of the cochairmen of this new alliance is familiar to many of us in the United States, he is Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor of New York City. He said, “Today, the world’s cities are uniting their efforts to fight climate change behind a single global organization, something that has never before happened.” He is also the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change. He also said, “In unity there is strength, and this new Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy will help accelerate the progress cities are making and magnify their influence on the global stage. This is a giant step forward in the work of achieving the goals that nations agreed to in Paris.” There are many different ways in which we can help to stop or slow down climate change. One of them is by not using fossil fuels to generate our electricity. A recent report stated it is now cheaper to generate electricity with solar power than the standard method of coal or oil. This was only said to apply to sunny locations like Nevada. I don’t know how true this is, but I do know if it isn’t true we are getting very close to that goal. One thing does seem like a shame and it is the lack of wave generating equipment. There is just so much water in the world going to waste. Water has tremendous power and the waves crashing on our beaches and the tides and currents have tremendous energy stored in them. If we used this type of equipment in the ocean around the United States it would not even be an eyesore since it would be under the ocean not sticking out on top of it like wind farms. We should also make sure every dam has electrical generating equipment that can support it. Why let all this power go to waste? Water power is clean power, maybe the cleanest of all and it is far less dangerous than nuclear power. When Nikola Tesla was performing his experiments it is claimed he found a way to harness cosmic rays. We know many inventions which interfered with fossil fuel companies making huge profits were bought by them and then put out of business. Is the reason we never heard any more about this idea is that we couldn’t figure out how to make it work, or was it too good and somehow the fossil fuel companies got the idea buried? Here is what Tesla said in 1932 about cosmic rays. He said he harnessed them and caused them to operate a motive device. He said cosmic ray investigation was close to his heart and said he was the first to discover them. He also said what was good about them was the fact they (cosmic rays) fall upon us 24 hours every day and he was developing a plan for their use. He said they were tiny and went on to say they moved faster than the speed of light. I think we have found out they don’t, but are extremely fast never the less. Tesla said he built a device to harness and store the energy from cosmic rays. This would be the ultimate in clean permanent energy. One has to wonder when inventors and scientists think they are getting zero point energy from some dimension out in space, could they really be receiving energy from cosmic rays. Energy is all around us and there is really no excuse for not trying to harness a lot of this green energy. Even a simple contraption at the entrances and exits of busy buildings could create energy when people push doors or step on a plate. Another area we seem to have missed is those areas around the tops of tall buildings where there is always winds blowing. I think if we were really dedicated to creating clean energy we could have done it years ago if it weren’t for the powerful lobbies for the fossil fuel companies. All they have to do is push for regulations stopping us from doing this and they have succeeded in setting back the entire country as far as green energy is concerned. There are probably hundreds of ways of creating free energy. Energy is everywhere. When one place is hot that heat can be captured and used in different ways. Even when we walk to the store we are generating energy which can be used if captured to heat our clothes, power our devices or for other uses I haven’t thought about. It seems to be the denial of global warming is all about money and when people believe it who have no stake in the game they are just being fooled by those who do. Isn’t it incredible when you think about it, we all live on the same planet and yet there are some who put money above the well-being of their world? I have heard some of these types say they don’t care, because they will be long dead before anything really drastic happens to the planet. How selfish can one person be? Apparently there are some who are not bothered by conscience problems, because they don’t have one. Some of them seem to have found their way into our government and are putting their needs ahead of those not only in the United States, but ultimately the people of the planet. One only has to see scientist after scientist talk about how global warming is affecting our planet then listening to some politician or government scientist deny it and say it is only a hoax from the left to realize there is something wrong, some ulterior motive making these people act this way. Where there is a tidal wave coming and everyone is running one way to get away from it and they pass a person heading toward it, you would suspect they were either unbalanced or had some reason for doing this dangerous thing. There is no doubt about it, global warming is happening and we should be doing everything in our power to reduce its effects. |
