What is really going on between Russia, the United States and the Ukraine?

Why is Russia taking such chances in the Ukraine? If you were in Russia’s shoes how would you feel about being surrounded by weapons and having your only naval base which has an entrance to the Black Sea which leads to the Atlantic Ocean being cut off. We have been very hard on Russia ever since Putin took over the first time. Remember how the news articles decried the fact Putin was former KGB? Why was it this fact was constantly being hammered into our psyche? There seems to be something we need more than anything else and that is an enemy. The first president to panic when the old Soviet Union took his advice, which was really for our benefit not theirs, was Ronald Reagan. Remember when he said, “Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall.” He never expected Gorbachev to do this and was as surprised as anyone when Gorbachev obliged him. At that point we put on our brave face and acted for a time like we were going to be true friends, but we didn’t really want Russia as a friend.

We demonstrated our disdain for Russia by putting American bases and training facilities in former parts of the old Soviet Union. We put them in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The U.S. also announced it wanted to put a base in Tajikistan, another former part of the Soviet Union. Just imagine how we would feel if the United States broke into several countries and Russia decided to build bases in five or six of our states. I really don’t think we would appreciate this. Now decide how you would feel if you were a Russian and saw this happening in areas which used to be part of your country? I bet you wouldn’t like that idea very much. It seems to be a very provocative thing to do. If you truly want to become allies with a country would you think this was a good idea?
The president of the Ukraine is Petro Poroshenko. He welcomed a delegation headed by the CIA director of the National Service of Covert Operations, Frank Archibald. The delegation also included the former CIA chief in Ukraine Jeffrey Raymond Egan and also the new chief Mark Davidson and other CIA agents. You can imagine how Putin and the Russians felt when they saw this happening. An agreement was signed for military cooperation between the Ukraine and the U.S. This was another stick in the eye of the Russians because they felt the CIA was really running the Ukraine and felt they had to do something about it. They thought their naval base was now in danger of being taken away. Rumors started that Poroshenko was a former CIA operative. Other meetings between Poroshenko and the U.S. took place in Washington. To Putin Poroshenko is nothing more than a U.S. puppet.

Let’s talk about how we put missile defense systems right next to Russia. We proposed putting a missile defense system in Poland and Russia complained and rightfully so. This was right near their border. We then told them it had nothing to do with them and was for protection against mid-eastern terrorists. This was like putting a missile defense system in Canada aimed at us and telling us not to worry this is for defense against Mexico. We finally called it off for a while but are scheduled to build an Aegis system instead. We also sent ships with the system on them in the area. We located missile tracking radar in the Czech Republic. This year the United States, in conjunction with Britain, agreed on the need for bolstering missile defense systems in Eastern Europe, but told Russia not to worry, it had nothing to do with them.

The next thing we did was hit the Russians with crippling sanctions and have been twisting the screws ever since. Do not get me wrong, the Russians are no angels, but neither is any other country. We now have the Russians in a vice and we just keep tightening it. The other day Putin said something about it being foolish to mess with a nuclear power. These were not his exact words, but they convey his threat. I have read comments by different scholars who believe we are trying to get Russia to fall apart because of their mineral wealth and their gas and oil reserves. This would be despicable, but I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, but I do know by keeping Russia as an enemy and having them threaten us is good for the profits the military industrial complex would make.
If one just sits back at watches what we are doing, they could not help but come to the conclusion we probably forced Russia into their current situation. Even trivial things come into play. We announced we would be going back to the moon and the Russians were very happy. They envisioned a joint effort, but then we told them they were not going to be included. Remember we had been working with them for years by that time in space missions. Is it any wonder they have threatened to make us use a trampoline to get to the International Space Station? We worked so close with them our rocket engines were coming from Russia and now NASA is in a panic over that.

President Eisenhower was so correct in is goodbye speech where he warned us about not letting the military industrial complex get too strong. We did and now we are buying multibillion dollar weapons that don’t work properly like the F-35 fighter which cost almost one hundred million dollars a copy. Here is what people had to say about it. They said it can’t climb, it’s too heavy at thirty-five tons, pilots are scared to fly it because the oxygen gets cut off and it’s had engine fires and there are over seven hundred defects waiting to be fixed. This is one of the reasons these companies need Russia as an enemy to keep these crappy weapons coming.

It is time we backed off of Russia and gave them some room. I am not talking about the Ukraine situation, but everything we are doing to them in general. Some people who are running this country think they are so smart, but it only takes one miscalculation before a war starts and a nuclear war is something nobody wants, at least I think so, but maybe I am wrong about that.
