Space, Life and Other Things There is so much to talk about today. I could talk about politics, but nobody wants to hear about that anymore, do they really? I could talk about Roswell it’s been in the news so much in the last couple weeks. It’s like a cold, it never seems to go away. I’m not going to talk about either one of those subjects however. The first thing I would like to mention is the funding bill which was passed for NASA. I think by now everybody knows NASA got pretty much what it wanted, but an article has come out about the bill which indicates there was a directive in it that many of us are not aware of and that directive was NASA was told to find aliens. This is very important for several reasons. The first reason I can think of is the directive must have come from someone who believes we have never found aliens before. We know the directive was from the President, Donald Trump. The second thing which comes to mind is possibly we never did find aliens before and the president has been told this. Was he told the truth, was he told a lie or was he told nothing? Another thing is how does an agency go about finding aliens? If they haven’t been able to find aliens by now, how can we expect them to suddenly come up with aliens? Is the president expecting NASA to spend some portion of its new budget on alien detection or have they been doing this all along and we didn’t know it? How does SETI, the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence fit into the search? They used to be the go to place to search for this intelligence by checking all the communication bands we know about. I have always asked the question why would advanced aliens use radio waves when we all know they don’t go faster than the speed of light? If alien craft were at any distance from each other it could take forever to receive a message. To give you an idea of what I am talking about, it takes light about eight minutes and twenty seconds to reach the earth from the sun and in the scheme of things the sun is right next to us. That same light takes about two hours and forty minutes just to reach the planet Uranus and this planet is in our solar system. This would not do very well in an emergency situation and it would be worthless traveling to another solar system and using a radio of any kind to try and talk with earth as it would take years for them to get the signal. This is precisely the reason why I thought SETI was sort of a waste of time and would only be useful if an alien craft was in the vicinity and decided to use radio waves for close communication for some unknown reason. There is a lot of talk lately, which I like to call chatter since it is happening in a lot of places at once and pertains to the private aerospace sector. The chatter is about secrecy and the fact many people believe private industry is becoming more advanced than NASA when it comes to putting vehicles into space. I don’t know if I agree with this at this time or not. I do know NASA is still using the same rocket technology for launches as when it first started to enter the space race. To this end there has been talk that a company which is being funded by NASA has stated they want to use fusion technology instead of rocket technology. So far, even though there have been many claims, fusion technology doesn’t seem to have been perfected to that point where it could be used for this type of propulsion. I say this, but of course I have no idea what type of technology is tied up in our secret projects. It has also been said by some now that private companies are in the space launch business, they are being told by the government to keep secret any objects which seem to be UFOs that they detect. Since this has been the policy for NASA for decades I can only assume these private aerospace companies had to go along with this or they wouldn’t have got contracts. Will we be able to see a lot more in space in the future then we can see now? We may be more capable than we are now. Scientists who have examined our brains claim to have discovered our brains operate in eleven dimensions, we are just unaware of this. They claim there are “Multiverse-like structures…” in our brains. They go on to say it is a world we never imagined. If we could somehow take advantage of our brains ability to operate in eleven dimensions what would we see if we traveled into space? Could space contain a lot more than we could ever imagine since we are only using four dimensions, if we count time, to see things? The researchers claim our brains use advanced mathematical systems and structures appear when the brain processes information and then they disintegrate into nothing when it is done. The findings were published in the journal Frontiers in Computational Neuroscience. One scientist stated this may be why it’s been so hard to understand the relationship between the brain’s structure and its function. Scientists realized as we get out deeper into space we are going to find things we never expected, but we don’t have to go out too far to find some of them. Recently scientists have discovered a circular pit on the face of Mars and they have come to the conclusion life could exist inside this pit since it would be protected from the ravages on the face of the planet. We are most likely only talking about microscopic life. Scientists believe the area somehow collapsed. I have a hard time believing that since the pit is almost perfectly round. I suppose it was around indentation and filled with water at some point and this could account for its round shape, but it does seem unlikely. There are those who think it is artificial and was created by intelligent beings for reasons unknown. I guess the only way we could know that for sure is to go to Mars. Sometimes when scientists search large areas for something, they may find it right under their feet where they were originally. Such is the case with the Curiosity Rover. It landed inside Gale Crater and now scientists think it could have been habitable about 700,000,000 years ago. Curiosity was sent there originally, because it was believed the crater had contained a huge lake. A geologist stated there were very different coexisting environments in the same lake. Perhaps NASA got it right when they landed there. |
