What’s Up?
I had a problem with my computer which was getting slower and slower on the workbench screen. This can get really annoying. I went to the Task Manager (Ctl+Alt+Delete) and found a program I never downloaded had two copies running. It was named Common Software Manager and had apparently downloaded with other programs I did download. I tried to delete it but found it didn’t show in programs so I couldn’t undelete it. I looked online for a solution, but couldn’t find an easy one so I found the name of the company who created the program which was Flexnet and found a folder with that name and deleted it. This seem to have solved the problem and my computer is running faster than ever.
I read a truly horrible story. It was not that it wasn’t well written, it was about the subject. It seems a poor woman had been in a vegetative state for over ten years in a health care facility and she has just given birth. This has to be one of the lowest things a person can do, impregnate someone in a coma. It’s right up there with the worst kind of rape and if this person was captured and I was a judge he would get the maximum sentence allowed under the law. I have a high opinion of most people, but there is always some swine which rears his ugly head by doing something unthinkable to someone else.
I wonder how many people have read about the device which was designed by a 17-year-old to clean up plastic in the ocean? It was launched in September 2018. It is basically a 2000-foot-long barrier which forms a U shape and travels with the wind. It was sent to an area known as the Pacific garbage patch with is located between Hawaii and California. It is estimated the patch contained about 1.8 trillion pieces of plastic as of the writing of this article. The even more incredible part is this floating mass of plastic has formed an island twice the size of Texas. Unfortunately, the floating barrier is only partially effective. A piece has broken off of it and some of the plastic has come out. The inventor says the piece which broke which was about 60 feet long was a defect in the material, so this should be easy to correct on the next barrier being built. As for the plastic coming out, he says the barrier is moving too fast. I have to wonder even if many barriers are eventually sent to that area how long it would take to clean up, it sounds like a lifetime to me?
Scott Waring is a dedicated alien hunter. He does his hunting by examining NASA and satellite photos along with other sources. He thinks he has found three different fossils which are on the surface of Mars and indicate life. One is a skull which he thinks might prove there was once a higher form of life on that planet. Another he thinks is a planet similar to a cactus, and the third he believes is the fossil of an animal similar to a cat of some kind. There certainly are a lot of things on the surface of Mars which seem to prove there was once intelligent life on the planet and if one wants to put some time in and examine the NASA photos of Mars in detail some very strange things can be seen. Unfortunately, NASA has a habit of removing photos which attract too much attention in this area and erasing references to their catalog numbers.
Our ancient ancestors never cease to amaze me. They were a lot smarter than many of us give them credit for. One area they sometimes discovered breakthroughs in was medicine. These were people who didn’t know how our bodies worked and yet they found some incredible things. Take the Druids for example. We all know antibiotics are getting less effective against some of the bugs plaguing us. We may be able to do something about this thanks to the Druids. It turns out there was a Druid healing place in Ireland and when the soil was examined it was found there was bacteria in it which is effective against four of the six super bug sicknesses which are drug resistant. Not to shabby my Druid friends.
One of the things which puzzled scientists was exactly how photosynthesis worked. This may be a thing of the past. Scientists have announced they have been able to correct a problem with photosynthesis and make it more efficient. They state with this correction they will be able to grow wheat and rice crops with increased yields of between 20% to 50%. This could go a long way to solving food shortages in some countries.
Yep, its time traveler watch again. We have ANOTHER man who claims to be a time traveler. There is just no end to the foolishness. Anyway, he has made some predictions as they all do, but his are a little different. He claims in February 2019 a massive snow storm will hit the Midwest and wipe out some cities. He says they will be the biggest snow storms in history. I would say they would have to be. He says he has some pages from future books he ripped out to prove his case. Well I guess if we wait two months we can see if he is telling the truth. If a so-called time traveler wants to try and convince me he is legitimate, let him bring me a baby dinosaur from the past, then I will at least listen to what he has to say.
Have you ever heard of the “Uncanny Valley Effect?” I am not making this up. It is the feeling we get when we see something which resembles a human being, but isn’t. For example, if we see a robot it could make us feel an emotion which might be discomfort. Some describe these feelings as eeriness and even revulsion. This feeling has been reported for thousands of years because life like dolls also elicit this reaction in some people. Some scientists think as robots become more human like to the point where we may not be able to distinguish them from humans these feelings may diminish and eventually disappear.
Quantum navigation is a recent discovery. Most of us have become addicted to GPS for getting around. We either use built in navigation in our cars or use software on our cell phones for directions. Now there is something new and satellites are not needed. Quantum navigation had to be created because satellites will become the first casualties in a war.
